Fees

Although utilizing an attorney can be expensive, the Ray Law Firm keeps its overhead costs low in order to provide legal services more affordably.  The cost of legal services can vary based upon the amount in controversy, the amount of work required, the complexity of the legal services to be provided, and various other factors. The Ray Law Firm provides legal services based on a per-hour charge or a flat fee depending on the type of service to be provided and the preference of the client.  In addition, the Ray Law Firm is willing to consider other payment arrangements. For example, the Ray Law Firm provides continuing part-time general counsel services to companies based upon a discounted, guaranteed flat fee per month in exchange for a specific number of hours of legal services to be provided to the company each month.

Appellate

The Ray Law Firm is available to handle all of your appellate needs, including trial briefing or issues likely to be appealed, briefing of appeals and original appellate proceedings, and oral arguments.  For more information, please see the appeals section on this website.

Litigation 

The Ray Law Firm has over fourteen years of experience representing clients in commercial litigation in Texas state and federal courts, as well as various federal courts in other states.  In addition, the Ray Law Firm has experience representing clients in arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association, the International Court of Arbitration, and securities arbitration panels.    

The Ray Law Firm has experience handling complex and sophisticated business litigation and arbitration in a wide variety of subject matters and practice areas, including commercial and contractual disputes, fraud, partnership disputes, consumer claims, defending automobile dealerships, construction and real estate disputes, employment and non-compete claims, landlord/tenant disputes, class actions, collection of judgments, and some family law matters.

Transactional

The Ray Law firm provides a variety of transactional services, all of which are designed to avoid future conflicts, to avoid litigation, and to protect the client's interests and assets.

Employment
 
The Ray Law Firm offers legal representation to employers and employees on a variety of legal employment law issues. Legal representation includes drafting of or litigation related to non-compete agreements, executive contracts, severance agreements, and termination claims.  In addition, the Ray Law Firm is available to help employers develop programs and practices that reduce the possibility of litigation and employee grievances.   

Wills and Estate Planning

The Ray Law firm is available to assist in the preparation of wills and other basic estate planning needs.  Simple wills are provided on a flat fee basis in a service package that includes: Simple Will, Statutory Durable Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney, Physician's Directive, HIPPA Release, and Designation of Agent of Remains and Organ Donation.  The cost for a basic individual will package is $500.  The total cost for two will packages (for example, a husband and wife) is $750.  The cost for additional trusts or more complex estate planning will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
